Special Worship in December
- December 24, Christmas Eve Worship from Home, 4 pm. Tune in to YouTube for this special service.
- December 25, Christmas Day, 10-11 am. Bishop Bonnie Perry invites the whole Diocesan household to celebrate Christmas Day together! The service will be livestreamed at edomi.org/christmas and on The Cathedral Church of St. Paul’s Facebook page.
- Sunday, December 27, 10 am. Southeast Michigan Synod “Lessons and Carols” Service, which will be posted on the Spirit of Grace Youtube channel.
(November 13, 2020) Oakland County has returned to Red status due to high COVID-19 case counts. After this Sunday, we are temporarily returning to Sunday worship online in interest of the safety of our community. The Worship and Music ministry team, the subcommittee charged by PLT to plan worship, will be meeting to plan creative worship opportunities that will provide safety while maintaining community.
We’ll resume our in-person worship plans when it has been deemed safe to do so by the Oakland County Health Department and the Southeast Michigan Synod and the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan, our governing bodies.
We endeavor to communicate these changes as they happen in a variety of ways: phone calls, emails, online posts to Facebook and USPS Mail. If you believe that you are missing some communication pieces, please call someone on the leadership team and we will find a way to solve the problem.
Here are some of the ways we’ll be offering Sunday services in the near future:
- Zoom Worship. December 6. See the faces of your church family while logged into Zoom. Contact Carol at clatimer@spiritofgrace.church for the link. This service will also be streamed to our YouTube channel.
- Worship from home. Our YouTube channel hosts both live-streamed and prerecorded services. As of November 22, our services will be prerecorded unless otherwise noted. Bulletins are always available at this link.
- “Drive-in church.” November 15 was the last parking lot service for the fall season. Pull into the parking lot for the 10:00 am live broadcast on 104.7 FM. Communion is offered to those in the parking lot. Please print out your bulletin at home, or bring it on your mobile device. Masks and physical distancing required if you wish to leave your vehicle.
- Live streaming. This allows those at home to worship in real time as the service is being broadcast with a small team from the sanctuary. If you’ve missed a live-streamed service and want to watch later, those videos will be uploaded to YouTube by 5 pm on Mondays.
